XiMo AG and its wholly owned affiliate XiMo Kft, a company focused on the commercialization of metathesis technology, is saddened to announce that Prof. Dr. György Emil Frater, XiMo’s co-founder and founding board member, died suddenly on Tuesday, 25 June 2019 at the age of 77. The entire XiMo family mourns this loss.
From founding XiMo in 2010, Georg has focused on leadership, scientific excellence, and growth of XiMo. He has successfully transformed XiMo from an idea into a company with successful collaborations, catalyst sales and product development. He will be greatly missed by everyone associated with XiMo and leaves behind a team motivated and capable of leading XiMo and its innovation for years to come.
Georg Frater had been the Chief Science Officer of XiMo prior to which he had been the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer and a founding member of the Board of Directors. He was also the former President of the Swiss Chemical Society and a former Professor at the University of Zürich
Our deep sympathy is with his family and friends.
We will always honor Georg and his contributions as we continue to build the company on the foundation of his leadership.
